Kendrick Lamar inducts N.W.A into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

Watch his impassioned speech here.

In what is an historic moment for Hip-Hop, the World’s Most Dangerous Group N.W.A has been inducted into the coveted Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, officiating their status as one of the most influential and elite hip hop groups of all time. The controversial five-piece – Ice Cube, Easy E, Dr Dre, MC Ren, and DJ Yella – were on-hand at a recent ceremony to receive this overdue accolade, inducted by none other than fellow Compton emcee Kendrick Lamar.

Lamar gave an impassioned speech directed to each member of this seminal collective, sharing personal stories before opening the gateway for N.W.A to join the likes of Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Run D.M.C, Beastie Boys, and Public Enemy in a handful of Hip Hop artists who have been included this musical echelon.

“The fact that a famous group can look just like one of us and dress like one of us, talk like one of us, proved to every single kid in the ghetto that you can be successful and still have importance while doing it”. You can watch the full speech below as well as N.W.A on stage accepting this honour.

Ren even took a shot at Kiss frontman Gene Simmons, who recently displayed his ignorance by stating that he hopes hip hop dies one day.
